Are you planning a road trip this month? What is the driver supposed to do while the passengers are relaxing, sleeping, reading and watching movies? Well, we’re glad you asked! The library has over 150 audio-books to educate or entertain while those miles are piling up.
Speaking of travel, it’s so inconvenient to have to bring a separate suitcase just for books. Luckily there are eBooks! Recently a new app has been launched to access the eLM (eLibraries Manitoba) collection. The set up process is smooth and the app is streamlined and visually appealing. The app is called Libby and can be found in the iOS (Apple) and Play (Android) app stores to download. More information about Libby can be found at https://meet.libbyapp.com
Prefer to travel by human-power? New to the library is the set of 6 Trans Canada Trail maps with navigational and interpretive guides. These colorful and easy to read maps include a listing of photo-op points, museums, historic sites, points of interest, wildlife viewing areas, birding hot spots, geo-spots and more.
Don’t forget about armchair travel! Originally this term was used to describe reading travel books to learn about a country, people, or area. The definition has expanded to include reading any kind of book to transport oneself to a different place, time or experience without ever having to leave your chair. Who doesn’t love this idea? Stop by, grab a few books and get comfortable.
