books and gifts New Sunday hours

The Biblio File
November 27, 2017

Come and see us at Pinawa’s 13th Annual Winter Town Market on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 10:00-3:00! This great event is held in the Pinawa Community Centre, 20 Vanier Drive.  The library will have a table of nearly-new and buy-by-the-bag books!  Perfect to add alongside the gifts under the tree.  Pinawa’s own Mike Luke will be there with his books, as will Gerald Kuehl with his book “Portraits of the North.” Support local!

EXCITING NEWS!  For those who like to enjoy Sunday afternoons at the library – we are now open Sundays from 1:00-4:00!  It’s amazing how much you canf it into an extra hour!

Kay Harvey has donated another BBC hit series to the library – Keeping Up Appearances.  This series highlights the life of Hyacinth Bucket (pronounced Bouquet, if you please) who lives to impress. And she has no patience for people who pretend to be superior — because that makes it “so much harder for those of us who really are.” Assured of her own eminence, she spends her days trying to make sure everyone else is, too. Her down-market sisters, Rose and Daisy, are a challenge, but she’s always willing to talk about her rich sister Violet.  This snobbish housewife is determined to climb the social ladder, in spite of her family’s working class connections and the constant chagrin of her long suffering husband.  You will find all 8 seasons at the PPL!

A few other DVDs have been added recently as well including Ballerina, Beauty and the Beast, The Book of Henry, and Sit and Be Fit.
