The theme for evening story time on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at 7:00 is birthdays! Come for stories, songs, rhymes and cake! Everyone welcome.
World Book Day is a registered charity on a mission to give every child and young person a book of their own. It’s also a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. It was first organized by UNESCO in 1995. Canada Book Day is celebrated on the same day to promote books and reading. We fully support taking as much time as possible on this day (and any day really) to take the time to read.
In the spring when it’s melting and slushy out we hear people say “It’s the perfect reading weather!” When it’s warm and sunny out we hear people say “It’s the perfect reading weather!” When the leaves are falling and it’s cool and refreshing out we hear people say “It’s the perfect reading weather!” When it’s cold and snowy out … okay you get it. Reading can be enjoyed any day, any weather, any time, any place and by any age. Visit the library!
