What’s new at the Library? – Cheryl! Actually she’s our same old Cheryl who’s been here for years, the new bit is that she’s going to start writing the Biblio File news. As always, we’ll continue to welcome your book and movie recommendations. Keep on telling us about the latest book you enjoyed, or even better if you’re moved to write a short blurb. Everyone loves a book suggestion and we’re happy to share yours.
So now it’s over to you, Cheryl!
NEW DVDs this week:
What if……we had 3 new Wild Kratts DVDs?
I’d like to say that these are for the kids, but I’ve learned something every time I’ve watched an episode – fun and informative shows that teach kids (well, everyone) about animals and the environment. This week on our shelves: Wild Reptiles, Australian Adventures, and Panda-monium.
Friends of Diego will enjoy his adventures in The Iguana Sing-along, The Great Dinosaur Rescue and Arctic Rescue.
You will also find Series 1 and Series 2 of “An Indian Doctor”, a multiple award winning BBC drama. This is the story of Delhi graduate Dr. Prem Sharma who arrives in the UK in 1963 as part of the first wave of Indian doctor wooed by then health minister, Enoch Powell. Prem and his dignified wife, Kamini, want to build a new life for themselves following a family tragedy – but rather than finding a glamourous job as a high-flying consultant in London, Prem finds himself in the Welsh coal mining village of Trefelin, where apart from the culture shock, he quickly starts to realize that things are not quite as they should be.
I have it on authentic Welsh authority that this is a very good series…thank you Kay Harvey for the donation! Interest is high on these so make sure you reserve your spot!
Stay tuned for new book titles in next week’s Biblio File.
