Did you know that our library has over 1000 DVDs?  They can be borrowed for free and yours for 3 weeks to enjoy!  We have many genres and a huge children’s section for those rainy summer days.

We have added a few more titles recently, including Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, When Nature Calls, and the Pet Detective Animated Series. Also new to us are Blue Smoke (based on the novel by Nora Roberts), Doubt (based on the multiple award-winning play), and Evening.  Kay Harvey has donated Series 3 of The Indian Doctor and for the kids we have Mr. Strong and Mr. Tickle from the well-known Mr. Men and Little Miss series.

The Man Booker Prize is a literary prize awarded each year for the best original novel, written in the English language and published in the UK. The winner of the Man Booker Prize is generally assured international renowned and success; therefore, the prize is of great significance for the book trade.  The 13 title longlist has been released.  This will be voted down to a 6-book shortlist in September and the winner will be announced on October 17, 2017.  From this list we have on our shelves  The Ministry of Utmost Happiness by Arundhati Roy, Autumn by Ali Smith, Swing Time by Zadie Smith, and The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead.  On order are 4321 by Paul Auster and Reservoir 13 by Jon McGregor. You can see the full list at themanbookerprize.com.

Reno alert! We will be changing our shelving in the fall and will have some bookshelves to give away! If you are interested please stop by and take a look.  We would love to find new homes for these – they are solid wood and very sturdy.  Perfect for a basement, storage room or garage.
