Get your costumes ready!  There will be a MONSTERIFIC evening storytime at the library on Monday, October 30, 2017 from 6:45 to 7:30.  Join us for stories and songs for families.  There will be a SPOOKTACULAR snack provided. This event is sponsored by Grassroots: Pinawa Early Childhood Development Committee.

Are you looking for something good to read?  Our very own Head Librarian has read and recommends Entry Island by Peter May.

“Readers of Peter May’s Lewis trilogy will enjoy Entry Island.  The Lewis trilogy mysteries take place on the rugged Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides off the northwest tip of Scotland.  The setting is spectacular and the history and customs of this desolate but beautiful area are what remains long after the thread of the whodunit is forgotten.

Entry Island is again set in a remote location, this time closer to home in the Magdalen Islands, part of the Province of Quebec in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.  Once more, both history and location are inseparable, blending the less-known potato famine in Scotland and the story of immigrants arriving in Canada at Entry Island into the narrative.  The plot of the whodunit is gripping, but it’s the history that you’ll remember.”
