Do you ever find yourself influenced by Oprah’s Book Club picks?  Heather’s Picks at Chapters? Suggested reading and Top 10 lists on Bookishbuzz.com? Sometimes it’s interesting to see what others are reading and their favorites. Or maybe it’s fun to step outside of your regular genre and try something new.

We would like to introduce a new idea – PPL’s very own “Librarian’s Choice” book reviews!  Every now and then you will find a book review by one of our own.  Why not start now?

The Good Luck Girl by Kerry Reich was a pleasant surprise.  Originally chosen to be a quirky and fun beach read about a post-college slacker, this book takes an interesting turn half-way.  In the beginning we meet Maeve,  a 20-something girl who can’t decide on which road to take in life. She is tired of being labeled irresponsible and after consulting Facebook, decides on a whim to drive across the country to L.A.  Her car breaks down en route and she ends up being stranded in Unknown, Arizona. It is here that she ends up facing the reality of her past.  It is both funny and moving in equal measures.”

Abibliophobia: the fear of running out of reading material.  Don’t let this happen to you!
