May 16, 2018 is Conscious Kindness day! Random acts of kindness are an easy way to spread happiness, gratefulness, and fun across the community. Surprise friends, family, co-workers and even total strangers with small acts of kindness. Let’s strive to make kindness day every day.
So far this month we have added 35 books to our New and “new to us” shelves. A small sampling includes Deep Freeze by John Sandford and Eight Days to Live by Iris Johansen in crime, An Irish Country Practice by Patrick Taylor and Enemy of the State by Vince Flynn in Fiction, Suitcase of Stars and Compass of Dreams by P.D. Baccalario in Junior Fiction, and 6 new books for children from the Canadian Centre for Child Protection that cover topics on how to keep safe. For Potter fans of all ages, we have just added The Chamber of Secrets, the illustrated edition, which is full of amazing artwork.
Blast from the past alert! We have recently acquired The Happy Cooker, a collection of recipes compiled by the Pinawa Home Ec. Club circa 1980! Flip through the recipes and perhaps see some familiar faces as well.
Please note that the library will be closed for the May long weekend, re-opening Tuesday, May 22nd.
