We love reviews of our books!  Thank you to Jackie and Mike for your feedback.

“Mike and I began reading The Indigenous Peoples Atlas of Canada two weeks ago. We’ll be returning the four-volume set to the library shortly, but we feel we still have so much to learn from them.

The first volume is full of maps which themselves are full of so much information we feel we haven’t absorbed everything we should. The other three volumes of the Atlas focus on Indigenous peoples – First Nations, Métis, and Inuit.

The volumes on each people are so accessible. They consist of articles that take up two pages and are written by many different authors. The topics are wide-ranging and current. We have learned about housing, relationship with the land, traditions, sport, language, education, and many other topics. On top of all the information in the text, there are many wonderful photographs of people, events, art, and history. And at the bottom of the pages there is a timeline highlighting events of importance for each people.

We’ll be returning the volumes to the library soon because we want other people to have a turn with these books and their invaluable information. But we know that we’ll go back to reading them again and again, along the path to reconciliation towards which they point us. A great addition to our library!”

Drop into the library on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 1:30 – volunteers will be here to help you with any questions about your device.  This event opportunity is offered by Two Rivers.
