Juan Pablo Quiñonez is the author of Thrive:  Long-Term Wilderness Survival Guide.  He is a survival expert and outdoor professional with over 10 years of experience in outdoor recreation and survival. His outdoor and survival experiences include backpacking the entire Pacific Crest Trail (2,650 miles) in 99 days; paddling over 1,500 miles during numerous remote whitewater canoe trips; living for six months in the wild with his partner, foraging to complement their meager rations; spending 100 days foraging in solitude during the winter in the boreal forest (supported only by small rations); and being a participant in, and winning, Season 9 of the survival series Alone. He holds a degree in Applied Ecotourism and Outdoor Leadership.

From essential hunting and gathering techniques to advanced fire skills and strategies for coping with wilderness hazards, this complete guide includes information on preparation, long-term shelters, food, self-sufficiency, bushcraft, winter and health.
