Place a Hold

Once you've logged into the catalogue, find an item you'd like to request.

Placing Holds

Click the Place Hold link to the right of the item information. If the item's available, it will be set aside for you to pick up. If all copies at your local library are checked out, you’ll be placed on a waiting list and will be notified when items become available.

Items on Hold

When you're logged into your account, you'll see an On Hold link at the top right of your screen.  Click that link to see what materials you currently have on hold. The title, author, format, pickup location, and status are displayed. You may cancel a hold or edit how you’d like to be contacted when the item is ready or where you’d like to pick it up.
Log in to My Account

  • Search the Library catalogue to find an item you wish to borrow.  By default the search parameter is “Relevance.”  You can change that to search by Title, Author, Subject, etc. – see the drop-down menu for choices.

Is the book IN or OUT?

  • If the item is IN (i.e. Availability: 1 of 1), it’s on the shelf – come in and check it out.  Or phone 204-753-2496 or email if you’d like us to hold the book at the circulation desk for you.
  • If the item is OUT (i.e. Availability: 0 of 1), click the Reserve button and we’ll let you know when it comes in for you.
